Reimer Residences: An Exclusive Hilltop Resort in Tubigon, Bohol

Bohol is one of the Philippines’ top favorite tourist destination. Luckily, it is among those provinces that opened its doors to tourists first amidst the pandemic. After few years of waiting, I finally had an opportunity to explore it with a few friends. Philippine tourism may have just started getting back to its feet but a lot of people have already crowded the sought-after spots in the province. To getaway from the tourist-flocked places of Bohol, we drove all the way from Panglao to this exclusive resort in Tubigon – the Reimer Residences.

Our Reimer Residences Experience

After a fun but long and tiring road trip, we made our way to Tubigon where we decide to stay for the night instead of coming back to Panglao. We arrived into an exclusive subdivision where the resort is situated. After a quick check at the gates, we drove uphill to Reimer Residences.

It was cool and serene, to begin with. A touched of warmth brushed our weary souls as the owner of the resort, Ma’am Juliet, welcomed us with her good-natured smile. After parking our chartered ride, we settled in Apartment 2 where Ma’am Juliet lead us into. If you are also to check into the resort, take note that it has a private yet limited parking space.

Meal Time

We decided to have dinner at the resort instead of eating out. However, take note that there are no convenience stores nor restaurants around. What we loved about Reimer Residences is that, we were free to bring foods and drinks and even cook at the apartment’s kitchen. Hence, We bought goods from the town proper which was just few minutes away and brought them to the resort. The aroma of the food in those bags lingered in every corner getting us all famished. So, we decided to devour the budget-traveler-friendly-but-a-winner takeaways by the terrace of the the apartment we were in. Ma’am Juliet also provided us with the eating utensils that we needed.

Post-meal Chill Night

The heat of the day warmed the waters in the pool which made it perfect for us to take a dip as we chill out for the night. We exchanged stories over bottles of beer and soju (and Yakult for me) at the pool. It was quite a refreshing way to end our day where we were mostly soaking in a lot of sun and on the road. We literally stayed there ’til midnight with the very nice host.

Mornings at Reimer Residences

Just when we thought that a night at the pool and under the stars is the best thing about the resort, the day begged to disagree. The whole scene and mood felt like an opening act of a romantic movie at the countryside. The birds were at the garden singing; the daylight brought out the fascinating colors of the hills and the treetops around the resort; and it was even more serene waking up in there. To be exact, it was glorious. The air couldn’t be fresher. Indeed, staying at the resort was a a breather. The only things that we could smell were the light and fresh scent of the morning dew and the breakfast that my friends were preparing. Our senses were feasting.

Our apartment has a roof deck with a gazebo. If we only had more time, we could have extended and enjoyed a barbecue night in here. While its terrace is a spot with a good view, the roof deck offers more. From there, we could see Cebu and the ocean that separates it from the province of Bohol. On the other side, there’s a vastness of verdant that is truly refreshing to see.

Parting Words

We honestly enjoyed our stay in Reimer Residences during our countryside road trip in Bohol. The host was extremely nice and accommodating (we even went diving during the last day of the trip), the place was amazingly safe and peaceful. Most of all, It was such a break from the crowd as we all had the place to ourselves. Would you also give this a try? Besides, this could be a good place to celebrate small gatherings especially in this coming holiday season!
