  • Baler DIY Travel Guide 2025 (Places to Visit + Itinerary)

    January 1, 2025 / 3 Comments

To be honest, I did not like Baler. In fact, I have avoided it on several occasions. The first time I set foot on it, I asked, “What’s good, Baler?” I thought it was boring and that there’s not much to see in there. La Union is one of the well-known surfing capital of the Philippines with others being Baler in Aurora, Siargao and some newly introduced surfing points in Real, Quezon and Zambales and others perhaps still remaining unexplored. If you are into surfing and long drives (no booking  and plane tickets involved) and food trip, Urbiztondo, San…

  • Monaliza Surf Resort, San Juan, La Union Review

    August 3, 2017 / 0 Comments

Monaliza Surf Resort is only just one of the resorts one can check into should someone pay a visit in one of the most famous surfing capital of the Philippines – San Juan, La Union. They have varieties of room and accommodation to offer but what I loved about it are rooms in the nipa hut. Actually there are only two of it. They are these old-fashioned rooms with wooden walls and floors, with capiz on its windows and nipa for its roof.  Don’t underestimate these materials, though; as I’ve proven them sturdy because I was there when it stood still against the strong winds, heavy rains and big waves…
