Its main islands namely Tablas, Sibuyan and Romblon, are among the main entry and exit points out of the 20 islands for discovering the province. Hence, it’s quite important to carefully plan the points of entry and departure for your journey to maximize your experience in the province. To help you with, here are the latest Romblon ferry and boat schedule that you should know!
Understanding the Ports and Romblon Ferry Schedule
As mentioned, Romblon province has several entry and exit points. Some of these islands have more than one port. For instance, this Romblon ferry schedule and guide mentions at least two main ports in Tablas island: the San Agustin and Odiongan port. San Agustin Port is located in northern east part of Tablas island. It is some two to two and a half hours away by land from Odiongan port. Odiongan port is seated at the mid-west side of the island. Tablas also has small ports located in Sta. Fe and Looc, on the southern part of the island. These ports are known for trips coming to and from its nearby island provinces like Mindoro Oriental and Aklan.
While Tablas island has two major ports, Sibuyan island only has one which is known as Magdiwang port. Romblon, Romblon also has one which is Romblon Port. The relatively small islands like Simara and Banton also have one ports but with trips only coming from Quezon Province. Another point of entry and exit is the famous Carabao island via the coastal town of San Jose. This island is the nearest one to Boracay in Aklan.
The ferries of big shipping lines like 2GO Travel, Montenegro, Starlite and StarHorse usually embark and disembark from the main ports (Odiongan, Romblon and Magdiwang). The local pump boats, on the other hand, goes to the nearby small ports.
