Coffee at the Hill: Mountain Brew Coffee Shop

We arrived at dusk – just in time for the sun to get fully tucked behind the mountains. The end of a dramatic sunset happened before us. The sky was a shade of pale blue and gray with few streaks of gold and pink. City lights near Manila Bay and Bataan can be seen coming to life across the ocean. The air was fresh and cool on our skin. It was such a breathtaking scene and moment which made the brew in the cup between our hands tasted even better in every sip. Mountain Brew Coffee Shop gave us quite a welcome.

Location and Ambiance

Mountain Brew Coffee Shop is located at Ternate, Cavite, along Nasugbu-Ternate highway. It is open from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM on weekdays and it opens at 8:00 AM on weekends. One of the things that I liked about it is its alfresco dining. The simple cabin-themed coffee shop got several wooden chairs and tables for two, small and big groups. There are some tables under the trees, too. The whole place offers a view of a forest below, Bataan’s Corregidor Island and Manila Bay at a distance. Capiz lamps are  hanging by the trees, just above the tables add to the romantic scene shall the sky turn pitch black.
It has a parking space and a well-maintained toilet. They also offer free Wi-Fi and network signal is good in the area, too. When visiting in the evening, make sure that you’ll bring and apply mosquito repellent since mosquitoes fly around especially at dusk.
Isn’t this spot lovely?

Mornings at Mountain Brew Coffee Shop

I love how calm the vibe is in the morning at Mountain Brew Coffee Shop. We decided to visit it again for brunch (I also couldn’t get enough of their coffee). The sky was clear on our return and Mt. Mariveles can be seen from afar. The horizon and the hues of sky and the ocean add up to the dreamy scene that it quickly got us detached from the dusty highway on the other side.

Mountain Brew Coffee Shop’s Menu and Food

Mountain Brew Coffee Shop’s menu
The menu includes coffee, tea, frappes, smoothies, sandwiches, pastries, pasta, salad and all-day breakfast at a reasonable price. Price of drinks ranges from Php 60.00 to Php 100.00 while that of food’s range from Php 85.00 to Php 200.00. One can get a satisfying meal for Php 200.00 to Php 250.00.
During our visit, we ordered frappes and coffee and light snacks since we had early dinner prior to our drive to Mountain Brew. We were also craving for some caffeine in our veins so we had salted caramel (Php 100.00) and chocolate (Php 100.00) frappuccino, hazelnut latte (Php 100.00), fries (Php 70.00) and lasagna (Php 110.00). Serving is pretty big, enough to get one full and satisfied.

I personally love their beverages. It has honestly become my go-to coffee shop when staying at Maragondon since it’s the best coffee shop for me in the area. A more than decent cup of coffee for a hundred bucks with a view, what more can I ask for?

On our return, we ordered the all-day breakfast (Php 210.00) quesadillas (Php 90.00), brewed coffee (Php 80.00) and latte (Php 90.00) for brunch

Mountain Brew Coffee Shop’s Staff and Service

Mountain Brew Coffee Shop’s staff members are approachable. They also attended to our queries and requests especially when the mosquitoes came flying around and started biting us. A staff immediately ran to us, lit a coil of mosquito killer and put it under our table.
We also didn’t wait for a long time for our food to be served; or not that we know of. Maybe we were also busy enjoying the view. It took them ten to fifteen minutes perhaps to serve everything.
The morning view! I wanted to see how it is in the morning so we want back. It’s worth coming back to!
The cafe only accepts cash. The nearest place with ATM is at Maragondon. Thus, make sure that you have enough cash for they do not accept debit or credit cards for payment.
