The Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta 2020 with the theme “Flying Carnival: A Weekend of Almost Everything that Flies” has kicked off last Friday, March 6, 2020. The three-day full of fun and flying event is held at San Lazaro Leisure Park in Carmona, Cavite making it the first Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta happening at the south! This longest-running sports aviation event is usually held at Clark, Pamanga. My Flying Carnival 2020 Experience Few meters off the ground and it feels amazing to be seeing the sunrise from here! Bodhi Library in La Bella Tagaytay

    February 29, 2020 / 0 Comments

La Bella Tagaytay has been among the top destinations in Tagaytay City due to its picture-perfect Greek-Mediterranean inspired structure and of course, the rustic-themed shop and library, The Bodhi Library, Mind and Body Shop. A lot would pay it a visit even just for an hour or two mainly to get Instagram-worthy pictures and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate or coffee with a fine ambiance – at least, as I have observed with the countless times I’ve gone in there to work. However, the Antiquarian shop and library has something far more interesting than these things. Guess, what? Tadah! the books and the shop itself. This may sound a little…

Coffee at the Hill: Mountain Brew Coffee Shop

    January 21, 2020 / 0 Comments

We arrived at dusk – just in time for the sun to get fully tucked behind the mountains. The end of a dramatic sunset happened before us. The sky was a shade of pale blue and gray with few streaks of gold and pink. City lights near Manila Bay and Bataan can be seen coming to life across the ocean. The air was fresh and cool on our skin. It was such a breathtaking scene and moment which made the brew in the cup between our hands tasted even better in every sip. Mountain Brew Coffee Shop gave us quite a welcome. Location and Ambiance Mountain Brew Coffee Shop is…

Cool climate, a unique and breathtaking view of a lake with a volcano at the middle of it, an array of restaurants with both local and intercontinental taste, coffee shops with great vibes and strong aroma coming to life on weekends – this is what Tagaytay city is all about. A surge of tourists from anywhere would hit the road to this city every weekend to unwind. In the long list of the things to do, one that would always stay on top is the gastronomic adventure. Sure there’s a lot of restaurants out there and in the list with the view but crowded by famished sojourners. If a local taste…

    December 22, 2018 / 0 Comments

“Farm to plate” kind of dining. This is what Mon’s Restaurant is all about. In collaboration with their in-house source, WIN (We Lead Integrated Natural) Farm, the said restaurant promises its customers a healthy and quality dining experience as their ingredients are straight out of their own organic farm cooked to perfection. Specializing on Filipino cuisine, this restaurant has truly become remarkable for its signature dishes are prepared with a contemporary touch and twist. • Mt. Pico De Loro: My Mother Mountain

    May 25, 2017 / 0 Comments

What’s your mother mountain? One climber once said that when someone says mother mountain, it is the first that one has ever hiked. Why did you hike in the first place? Out of curiousity? envy? Or was it a calling? Do you do recreational hiking or you do it for a purpose or advocacy? See I once lived in the outskirts of Cavite and I could always see this Mt. Pico De Loro and it meant nothing to me. It was just a mountain, yes? It WAS just a mountain. Well, God knows how much I love going to beaches and get that tanned skin every summer. But last February 2016,…

THE QUEEN’S ESCAPE

lady sipping juice from a paper cup

Hi! I am Queenie Anne Gumiran, the queen who escapes; a firm believer of the line, ‘we all deserve a little wanderlust‘. I started the Queen’s Escape travel blog to tell people a thousandfold stories about my motherland – that Philippines is more than just its pristine beaches and breathtaking summits. It aims to make the readers know about the best places to explore – both the world-renowned and the off the beaten path, how rich and diverse its culture is, how delectable the food is and more. More than these stories of wanders on a budget, The Queen’s Escape also tells stories of adventure on freediving and its advocacy, sustainable traveling.
