  • 2025 Travel Guide to Buscalan Village, Tinglayan, Kalinga

    January 3, 2025 / 34 Comments

As a Filipino national, I have always been proud and fascinated with how Philippines has very rich, diverse and unique culture. I would brave long drives and take flights and ferries from an island to another just to experience it myself. I have seen how a few ethnic groups do their rituals and how their way of lives interestingly are in documentaries and even textbooks but it’s way better to experience it with them. There’s a lot of ethnic groups that still thrive in one of the Philippines’ great divide, Luzon, and they exist in the outskirts – to the highest, farthest mountains. It is not the tradition only that…

I was running out of breath and I kept asking myself, “Why have I allowed myself to be here again?” I was drenched in sweat. My legs felt like they’re going to give up on me. The bag felt heavier on my shoulders. Despite the unspoken regrets, my feet still continued for I know what awaits up there. It’s a love and hate relationship with the mountains. I hate the assaults as much as I love the challenge and the priceless reward at the summit. You would say how you would never want to find yourself doing it again yet these words will be gone in the wind as soon…

  • Mt. Ulap, Itogon, Benguet 2023 Travel Guide

    May 26, 2020 / 2 Comments

Mt. Ulap is still CLOSED. Mt. Ulap is one of the recently known mountains in Benguet located in Itogon, to be particular. It has three peaks namely Ambanao-Paoay, Gungal and Mt. Ulap summit per say which is 1,846 meters above sea level (MASL). It has 3 out of 9 difficulty with 1 to 3 trail class making it a beginner-friendly mountain. Its features include grassland, pine ridges, scenic views of the Cordillera mountains and burial caves. However, these caves are out of the trail and only few had a chance to visit. Everywhere your eyes would lay upon is a sight of pieces of heaven, indeed! The view is just so breath taking most especially the…

The province of Rizal is blessed to be surrounded with the mountainous terrain of Sierra Madre. Situated at Southern Luzon, part of Region IV-A CALABARZON, its geographical location has been quite an advantage to the travelers, mountaineers and recreational hikers most especially from the Metro since it is just an hour or two away from the city’s hustle; hence, making a surge of them pay the province’s wonders a visit on weekends.
